The worlds biggest arts festival starts on August 6th.

This is a nice article from The Guardian newspaper about living in Edinburgh during the festival.

The Fire Engines

Great article by Innes Reekie on The Fire Engines one of Scotland’s foremost post-punk bands. This is from a new music magazine called State of Play that has encountered some launch difficulties. Going by the quality of this article the magazine is a much needed kick up the arse for the mainstream music press dedicated to the same old shit. The article brings back memories of the early 80’s music scene in Edinburgh. Dark days indeed, but always brightened by a few pints at the Tap.

T-Shirts Drying

I did some laundry last night and this morning noticed that some t-shirts were still damp so I slung them over my bass to dry. As I was doing other things I noticed that they looked so colorful in the sunlight. So I took this photo of them. Who said my blog was boring? Tomorrow I’m hoping to get a shot of some paint drying……

I got a copy of the Sigur Ros CD ‘Takk’ last week. Read this article from the Guardian about Iceland’s 2nd biggest musical act.
